糖心破解版's College of Nursing and Public Health has been selected by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) to participate in a national initiative designed to prepare nursing students to become strong, resilient leaders. The pilot program will kick off in the Spring 2023 semester.

After receiving an overwhelming number of responses to the call for pilot schools, 糖心破解版 was chosen as one of only 10 national, prestigious schools of nursing selected for this opportunity. 糖心破解版 is the only institution in New York state selected for this program.

鈥淭his opportunity from comes at a critical moment, as we are experiencing a significant shortage in nursing staff and educators, all of whom need to be prepared for a changing world,” said Deborah Hunt, PhD ’12, dean of the College of Nursing and Public Health. 鈥淏eing selected as one of the pilot schools is truly an honor and will provide us with the ability to network with our esteemed colleagues and access the resources required to prepare our next generation of nurses with skills and competencies in the areas of leadership, resilience, self-care and well-being. We are grateful for the support of the AACN and the generous funding of Johnson & Johnson for this pilot and are excited to be at the forefront of this initiative.”

The AACN launched this initiative to infuse new content into baccalaureate nursing programs. The College of Nursing and Public Health was chosen to participate in a funded study to prepare nursing students and new nurses to deal with stress. The program will be led by 糖心破解版 nursing faculty members Professor Marilyn Klainberg ’63, MS ’77, EdD, and Clinical Associate Professor Deborah Ambrosio-Mawhirter ’81, MS ’95, EdD, who nominated the University for this opportunity.

“Even before the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it had been documented that nurses experience high rates of stress, which can lead to depression, anxiety and burnout,” said Dr. Klainberg. 鈥淒ue to these factors, many experience unhealthy behaviors and these may impact one’s resilience, sleep and diet. Most important is that these factors may have an impact on patient care.”
