We are proud to acknowledge the awards some of our prestigious faculty have received recently, happy to announce the promotion of some within our ranks, and sad to bid a fond adieu to a few who are leaving us.
Associate Professor听David Machlis, PhD, in honor of his international efforts to educate people about the Holocaust and to combat prejudice and hatred for a more just and tolerant world,听. Dr. Machlis is the first faculty member to be honored at the Gala in the University’s history.
Arthur Leibowitz, clinical associate professor of accounting and law, is the recipient of the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business’s Outstanding Faculty Advising Award. This annual award recognizes faculty members for their exemplary contributions in helping undergraduate students define and achieve their academic goals.
Pamela Buckle, PhD, MA ’13, and听Soon Ryoo, PhD, have been promoted to the rank of professor of management and professor of economics, respectively.听Fan Liu, PhD, has been awarded tenure with promotion to the rank of associate professor of marketing.
A tip of the hat is also due to the Willumstad School’s 2021 Executive in Residence,听Stephen Davy, former managing director and chief information officer at Soci茅t茅 G茅n茅rale. Davy was a key contributor to the Elizabeth and Allen Don Center for Innovative Technology and Decision Sciences events and supported the School in a variety of other ways, both in and out of the classroom.
Congratulations to the 2021 Bender Award for Outstanding Body of Work winner,听Murat Sakir Erogul, PhD, associate professor of management, in recognition of his sustained record of high-quality scholarly works published during 2018, 2019 and 2020.
