The Garden City Police Department has informed us that high winds damaged a large tree near the University鈥檚 east entrance on South Avenue. The village will remove the tree to mitigate any potential damage should the tree fall.
We expect the grounds crew to be on site tomorrow, Friday, January 3, 2025 at approximately 9:00 a.m.
Until the work is safely completed,聽South Avenue will be closed to traffic from Rockaway Avenue to Brompton Road聽starting at approximately 3:30 p.m. today, January 2, 2025.聽We encourage you to access or leave campus via聽 Cambridge Avenue.
