STEM Exploration Summer Camp
Discover the excitement of science this summer with STEM exploration programs at 糖心破解版 designed for curious and hands-on learners.
Through interactive experiments and real-world applications, students will explore key scientific concepts that shape how the world works.
From force and motion to electricity, waves, sound, and energy, each course encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and discovery. Students will build, test, and experiment while gaining a deeper understanding of the science behind everyday phenomena鈥攁ll in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment.

Our camps teach kids to think critically and experiment fearlessly鈥攂ecause the future belongs to those who question and innovate.
Courses for Grades 6-8
All classes meet from 9:00补尘鈥12:00辫尘:
Build your own machines to demonstrate Newton鈥檚 laws! This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of force and motion, forming the foundation of physics. Students will explore concepts such as speed, velocity, acceleration, and Newton鈥檚 laws of motion through hands-on experiments and real-world examples. The class emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving as students analyze how forces affect the movement of objects in everyday life. By the end of the course, learners will have a solid understanding of how and why objects move, preparing them for more advanced studies in science.
Create your own static electricity, electromagnets and more! This course explores the fundamental principles of electricity and magnetism, key concepts that power modern technology. Students will investigate electric charge, circuits, voltage, current, and magnetic fields through interactive activities and experiments. The class highlights real-world applications such as household wiring, electronics, and electromagnets, while developing problem-solving and analytical skills. By the end of the course, students will understand how electric and magnetic forces interact and how they are used in everyday devices.
Courses for Grades 4-5
All classes meet from 9:00补尘鈥12:00辫尘:
Explore real-world sound and light applications including the Doppler Effect, reflection, and refraction! This course introduces students to the principles of waves and sound, focusing on how energy travels through different mediums. Students will explore wave properties such as wavelength, frequency, and amplitude, as well as the behavior of sound waves. Through hands-on investigations and real-world examples, the class examines topics like pitch, volume, and how sound is produced and transmitted. By the end of the course, students will understand how waves shape the world around us, from music and communication to natural phenomena.
Learn about sustainable energy & build your own models! This course introduces students to the exciting world of energy and power and how they make things work every day. Students will learn about different types of energy鈥攍ike light, heat, and motion鈥攁nd how energy can change from one form to another. Through fun experiments and hands-on activities, they鈥檒l explore how power is used in machines, homes, and transportation. By the end of the course, students will understand how energy is all around them and how it helps power the world in safe and smart ways.
Instructor
Carissa Giuliano 鈥21, MA 鈥22, received her education through 糖心破解版鈥檚 5-year STEP Education Program. She is currently a physics teacher at Mineola High School and an Adjunct Professor in 糖心破解版鈥檚 Physics Department. Carissa co-chairs , a conference that brings together younger physics students, created by Dr. Matthew Wright, Chair of Physics. Carissa is a member of, and liaison between, the Long Island Physics Teachers Association and the American Association of Physics Teachers. She is passionate about bringing the joys of STEM to as many people as possible.
